Gravel Truck Driver - Trucking Division

Mainline Construction (2014) Ltd. is seeking for a Gravel Truck Driver to work within our Grande Prairie location. Reporting to the Trucking Supervisor, the Gravel Truck Driver has the overall responsibility to ensure materials are dispatched to project sites on a timely and efficient basis. The Gravel Truck Driver will be responsible for moving gravel in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to adjust to last minute changes and work under instruction for emergency pick-up or delivery for new or established clients when necessary.

 

This job entails all aspects of coordinating, strong communication skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities. The duties listed below, but not limited to, the following: Drive Company owned and third-party trucks; Communicating on a daily basis with supervisor for assigned tasks, daily schedules and trucking requirements. 

 

The Ideal Candidate for this position will possess the following:

Qualifications and Experience:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience as a Gravel Truck Driver.
• Experience driving trucks within a heavy civil construction environment, an asset
• Class 1 Driver’s License; clean Driver’s Abstract
• Strong knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations, Canadian Hours of Service (HOS) Regulations, Cargo Securements, Alberta Commercial Weight and Dimensions Regulations, Alberta Commercial Transportation Permits and OH&S standards.
• Valid WHMIS, H2S Alive, TDG, eGSO (electronic General Safety Orientation) and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) or Petroleum Safety Training (PST)
• Experience driving trucks within a heavy civil construction environment, an asset
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required an asset.
