Scraper Operators

Reporting to a Foreman, a Scraper Operator is responsible for operating a self-propelled scraper or tractor drawn to move, haul and grade earth on various types of construction sites. A Scraper Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of scraper equipment and must be familiar with aspects of road construction.

Position Accountabilities: 

• Operate a scraper and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary.
• Determine speed and direction of machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
• Effectively communicate to all site personnel.
• Perform daily maintenance of equipment

The Ideal Candidate for this position will possess the following:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Class 5 Driver’s License; clean Driver’s Abstract.
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience within the Oil field construction industry.
• Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience operating a Grader is required.
• Relevant Oilfield Certification /Safety tickets would be an asset
